About the position

The Residential Supervisor for Adolescent Behavioral Health at Newport Healthcare is responsible for overseeing assigned residential houses, ensuring smooth daily operations, and providing support to Care Coordinator staff. This role involves acting as a liaison between the clinical team and direct care staff, facilitating communication and individualized treatment plans for residents. The position emphasizes creating a safe and caring environment for adolescents and their families, while also managing staff training, performance evaluations, and community engagement activities.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee assigned residential houses and ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Provide direction, support, and feedback to Care Coordinator staff.
  • Act as a liaison to the Clinical Team and other group facilitators.
  • Troubleshoot scheduling issues and present needs to the Residential Manager.
  • Delegate responsibilities and duties from shift to shift.
  • Choose and train shift leads for each shift.
  • Conduct weekly meetings with shift leads to monitor progress and areas of improvement.
  • Conduct weekly individual supervision with Lead Care Coordinator.
  • Conduct monthly POD meetings to monitor progress and areas of improvement.
  • Interview and select new employees in conjunction with the Residential Manager.
  • Provide training for all new direct care staff and review as needed.
  • Conduct performance evaluations of Care Coordinators and Lead Care Coordinators.
  • Communicate with the Clinical team regarding daily scheduling issues and treatment plans for residents.
  • Schedule and facilitate special activities for residents.
  • Be available to work the floor and support staff in difficult situations.
  • Communicate with parents regarding logistical issues and concerns.
  • Facilitate weekly community meetings and groups as needed.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with families, providing updates about residents.
  • Oversee and facilitate family days and manage AWOL and non-clinical emergencies during on-call rotation.
  • Ensure safety in the community.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human services, counseling, psychology, or social work, or state-approved credential.
  • Minimum of one year of experience working with adolescents and families with co-occurring disorders.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a supervisory role within a behavioral health setting.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based treatment practices for adolescents.
