About the position

The Residential Supervisor for Adolescent Behavioral Health at Newport Healthcare is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of assigned residential houses, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for residents. This role involves direct collaboration with care coordinators and clinical teams to provide individualized treatment and support for adolescents facing mental health challenges. The supervisor will also be involved in staff training, performance evaluations, and family communication, contributing to the overall mission of transforming young lives through evidence-based care.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee assigned residential houses and ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Provide direction, support, and feedback to Care Coordinator Staff.
  • Act as a liaison between the Care Coordinators and the Clinical Team.
  • Troubleshoot scheduling issues and present needs to the Residential Manager.
  • Delegate responsibilities and duties from shift to shift.
  • Choose and train shift leads for each shift.
  • Conduct weekly meetings with shift leads to monitor progress and areas of improvement.
  • Conduct individual supervision with Lead Care Coordinator weekly.
  • Conduct monthly POD meetings to monitor progress and areas of improvement.
  • Interview and select new employees in conjunction with the Residential Manager.
  • Provide training for new direct care staff and review as needed.
  • Conduct performance evaluations of Care Coordinators and Lead Care Coordinators.
  • Communicate daily with the Clinical team regarding treatment plans and scheduling issues.
  • Attend weekly Treatment Team meetings and provide feedback on residents.
  • Schedule and facilitate special activities for residents.
  • Communicate with parents regarding logistical issues and concerns.
  • Facilitate weekly community meetings and groups as needed.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with families and provide updates about residents.
  • Manage AWOL and non-clinical program emergencies during on-call rotation.
  • Oversee new resident intakes and consents.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human services, counseling, psychology, or social work, or state-approved credential.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working with adolescents and families with co-occurring disorders.
