About The Position

The Residential Specialist works cooperatively to assist homeless individuals to access services and benefits to overcome their homelessness. The Residential Specialist will work directly with participants daily to maintain the house and ensure program standards are being met. The Resident Specialist is responsible for always maintaining integrity. All duties will be performed in a courteous manner, allowing participants and staff to maintain a healthy sense of self-worth while maintaining a safe and sober environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • At least one year work experience in a residential program and/or human services-related field. Equivalent training and experience on a year-for-year basis in a related field will be considered.
  • Must be Over the age of 21 required
  • Minimum of 5-years driving experience required
  • Possess a Valid FL Driver’s license (within 30 days of hire if currently do not possess)
  • Possess a continuously valid US Driver’s license for the past three years, from date of issue required
  • Safe Driving record required
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with residents and staff.
  • Ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanor in high-pressure situations.
  • Proficiency in documentation and record-keeping to ensure accurate resident information.
  • Capability to work independently and as part of a team to support residents' needs.
  • Understanding of confidentiality and ethical standards in a behavioral health environment.
  • The ability to comply with the regulations requiring a workplace of dignity and respect and equal employment opportunity compliance.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with others and to accept constructive criticism from supervisors and managers.
  • Willingness to abide by the company’s published rules and regulations

Responsibilities

  • Advocates in the client’s best interest
  • Assesses needs and develops a plan to meet those needs
  • Completes required agency, funding, legal, statistical and fiscal documentation in an accurate and timely manner
  • Ensures that the environment is safe and residents are adhering to house rules, program policies and regulations
  • Provides security/reception services
  • Makes hourly observation rounds and documents in communication book
