About the position
The Residential Counselor at Merakey plays a crucial role in providing support and assistance to consumers in the Community Residential Rehab (CRR) programs. This position focuses on enhancing the quality of life for residents by assisting with various daily living activities and implementing individualized goal plans as directed by the treatment team.
Responsibilities
- Assist with nutrition, housekeeping, budgeting, hygiene, self-care, home safety, social interaction, exercise, health management, and vocational activities.
- Transport residents to appointments and outings.
- Implement appropriate parts of each resident's goal plan as instructed by the treatment team or supervisor.
- Report the resident's progress to the appropriate clinician.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Must have a valid driver's license with a clean record.
- One year of mental health experience with adults preferred.
