About The Position

LSS Arise Youth Center seeks a passionate, dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team and make a significant impact in the lives of teens and their families. If you are interested in enhancing your education in the juvenile justice and social services field this is a great position for you. We are looking for either a Residential Worker or a Residential Counselor. HOURS: Part-time, Day, Afternoon, Evening, Overnight shifts available.

Requirements

Must have a High School Diploma, or GED (for Residential Worker).
Possess an equivalent combination of education and experience (for Residential Worker).
Be at least 21 years old and willing to complete agency background checks.
Maintain a valid driver’s license or obtain one with approved driver status.
Hold a bachelor’s degree in behavioral or social sciences (preferred) OR Have post at least 48 credits and have one year of experience working with children OR Possess an equivalent combination of education and experience (for Residential Counselor).

Nice To Haves

Experience working with youth preferred (for Residential Worker).

Responsibilities

Provide supervision and support for youth in shelter care and reception center.
Provide direct client care, maintain/model appropriate boundaries, and teach applicable coping and problem-solving skills.
Complete reports and documentation as necessary.
Successfully complete all agency background checks, which include checks to detect criminal convictions of behavior harmful towards children, spousal abuse, and drug or sex crimes.
