About the position
View Point Health is a community behavioral health center utilizing a team of psychiatrists, nurses, licensed counselors and social workers, and other professionals to provide services to individuals who need treatment and support to cope with mental illness, substance abuse, and intellectual and developmental disabilities. View Point Health serves uninsured, underinsured, low-income Medicaid, Medicare, war veterans and some private insurance across multiple locations with a full continuum of behavioral health services and support. The services provided by View Point Health contribute to the reduction in homelessness, reduction in crime and subsequent incarcerations, higher graduation rates, lower dropout rates, decreased ER visits and decreased inpatient admissions. The Residential Care Provider monitors general resident activity to observe and report behavior/progress of individuals with severe developmental disabilities living in a group home or other community residential setting and provides individualized skills trainings according to residents' needs. Under direct supervision, assists with daily living activities at the person's home, in a daytime non-residential facility or a residential facility. Provides training of basic personal and social skills, simple academics, or work skills to consumers/students in a state school, hospital, juvenile detention facility, residence, group home, workshop, or supported employment environment.
Responsibilities
- Monitor general resident activity to observe and report behavior/progress of individuals with severe developmental disabilities.
- Provide individualized skills training according to residents' needs.
- Assist with daily living activities at the person's home or in a residential facility.
- Provide training of basic personal and social skills, simple academics, or work skills.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Any combination of training and experience that enables the applicant to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Some positions may require a valid driver's license.
