About The Position

The candidate will be working under the mentorship of Dr. Maia and Dr. Harrington in a joint project to define transcriptional dependencies associated with serous (p53 Aberrant) endometrial cancer.

Requirements

  • PhD in a relevant field (e.g., cancer biology, molecular biology, genetics, or related disciplines).
  • Proficiency in a wide range of molecular biology techniques, including DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, qPCR, cloning, western blotting, chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChiP) and CUT&RUN.
  • Proficiency in mammalian cell cultures—particularly organoids.
  • Proficiency in bioinformatic analysis.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with genomics techniques such as ATAC-seq, RNA-seq, ChiP-seq, CUT&RUN is preferred.
  • Experience with in vivo preclinical models of oncology is also preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate mammalian cell cultures, primarily intestinal organoid/tumoroid models
  • Derive and establish normal and cancer organoid lines from patient samples
  • Design and conduct drug screenings and evaluate the efficacy of novel therapeutics in preclinical organoid models.
  • Use reporter expressing organoid models to assess cell state dynamics, in response to various compounds and drug candidates, using flow cytometry analysis.
  • Conduct a wide range of molecular biology techniques, such as DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, qPCR, cloning, western blotting and chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChiP).
  • Interpret, present, and document experiments based on generated data to investigators
