About the position

The Research Associate position involves designing and performing experiments in a collaborative laboratory environment. The role requires effective communication with peers and supervisors, as well as the ability to analyze and document experimental data. The Research Associate will participate in lab maintenance and ensure safety protocols are followed while operating laboratory equipment.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for designing and performing experiments while collaborating and communicating effectively.
• Performs minimally complex experiments with input from supervisor.
• Understands experimental goal and may provide input to the experimental design.
• Analyzes data from individual experiment with input from supervisor and documents work in laboratory notebook or report.
• Able to summarize a group of experiments.
• Effectively communicates with peers and supervisor.
• May present data in group meetings.
• Prepares reagents and panels.
• Participates in lab maintenance activities.
• Maintains training log.
• Ensures proper transportation, handling, and disposal of hazardous, bio-hazardous and/or infectious substances.
• Operates and calibrates all general lab equipment.
• May write study protocols and reports to support part of the project.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or related field
• 0-2 years experience
• Hepatitis B Vaccination notification will be required
• Good knowledge of GLP
• Knowledge of laboratory safety and record keeping
• Strong mathematics skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Microsoft Office Suite: Powerpoint, Excel, Word
