The Language in the Environment (LITE) Lab investigates how complex environments (e.g., adversity, trauma, maltreatment, chronic stress) impact language development, communicative functioning, and risk for language disorders. This position is ideal for an undergraduate student who wants research experience related to communication sciences and disorders, psychology, applied linguistics, etc. The primary responsibility will be transcribing and coding language samples from video-recordings of caregiver-child interactions of families experiencing extensive adversity. Ideal for candidates with an interest in child development and a desire to gain their first research experience. Undergraduate Students Encouraged to Apply!!
