About The Position

Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO) is seeking a Research Analyst for its Institutional Research department. This full-time position involves creating and maintaining interactive dashboards and automated reports, extracting and manipulating data, collecting and verifying data for external surveys, assisting with federal and state reporting, coordinating internal survey projects, and supporting the development of predictive models and other analytics initiatives. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as computer science, business, math, or education
  • Experience working with relational databases for data collection, analysis, and report writing
  • Experience developing engaging and informative reports and dashboards using Power BI or similar platforms
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Access
  • Knowledge of research design and statistical analysis techniques
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of customer service

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain engaging, interactive dashboards and automated reports using business intelligence software and other reporting tools
  • Extract and manipulate data from warehouse and enterprise systems using languages/tools such as SQL, R, or Python
  • Collect and verify data to complete external surveys
  • Assists in the completion of all required federal and state reporting
  • Coordinate various internal survey projects, from design through data analysis and reporting
  • Assists in the development of predictive models and other analytics initiatives
