About The Position

Kharon is seeking a full-time Research Analyst focusing on Sanctions Monitoring, based in NYC or Washington D.C. This role requires frequent in-office attendance.

Requirements

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business Administration, International Relations, Political Science, Security Studies, Regional Studies, History, Sociology, or a related field
  • Must have at least 1-3 years of professional experience with sanctions, export controls, anti-money laundering or countering the financing of terrorism, and experience researching issues of international security and economy in high-risk jurisdictions
  • Experience with or willingness to learn SQL
  • Experience with data analysis, data visualization, and graph databases (Neo4J)
  • Understanding of or willingness to learn web technologies (HTML, JavaScript, CSS, XPath, JSON, etc).

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring new sanctions, enforcement actions, and policy activity by regulatory agencies for developments relevant to Kharon’s products
  • Driving the curation, publication, maintenance, and quality assurance of datasets
  • Performing data validation and reconciliation to support new products and partnership initiatives
  • Conducting research on issues in international affairs that impact business risks and identifying relevant data sources
  • Accurately perform detailed quality assurance of data and developing additional tooling to support these tasks as necessary
  • Writes original code to assist in automating data analysis, cleanup, and enhancements
