The role involves writing compelling materials, analyzing audience engagement, and collaborating with editorial staff to enhance content quality. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of animal-related issues and the ability to communicate effectively with an animal-loving audience.

Responsibilities

• Writing and editing compelling, accurate articles and content with emotional appeal.
• Working with existing editorial staff to elevate quality and impact.
• Analyzing engagement and other analytics to help shape future strategy.
• Creating eye-catching headlines.
• Choosing emotion-eliciting images that will compel readers to share and take action.
• Ensuring top quality content that is 100% accurate and in line with brand guidelines and style.
• Maintaining constant awareness of animal-related events and responding with pitches for content ideas.
• PR outreach as needed to help LFT's work achieve mainstream media coverage.

Requirements

• A proven track record of creating successful online content.
• Familiarity with what makes articles compelling to an online audience.
• An eye for images that make people click.
• The ability to produce accurate, concise, and interesting copy.
• The ability to spot grammatical, factual, and style errors and provide feedback to help writers improve their work.
• Knowledge of AP style.
• Thorough understanding of the ethics and ideals of the animal protection movement.
• The ability to take direction well, receive constructive feedback, and work independently.
