About the position

The Replenishment Buyer at Joseph's Gourmet Pasta Company plays a crucial role in ensuring a consistent supply of ingredients and packaging materials necessary for production. This position involves planning and purchasing highly perishable items, managing vendor communications, and reconciling inventory discrepancies to support the manufacturing facility's operational needs.

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily purchases of ingredients, packaging, and other materials as needed.
• Manages communication of specifications to vendors and coordinates Certificates of Analysis (COA's).
• Communicates with storage facilities to ensure delivery expectations are met.
• Develops mid-range purchasing plans for long lead time ingredients.
• Manages material flow between storage facilities and the factory.
• Produces detailed, polished, professional communications both to vendors and internally to peers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related field.
• Prior purchasing experience is desirable.
• Broad understanding of all purchasing functions.
• Broad understanding of ingredients and management of perishables.
• Broad understanding of manufacturing capabilities and constraints.
• Knowledgeable at interpreting Bills of Materials (BOM's), recipes, and batching constraints.
• Knowledge of Navision Dynamics or other ERP/MRP packages with a high degree of comfort handling data.
• Advanced Excel skills, including formula construction and pivot tables.
