About the position

The Renovation Specialist at St. John's is responsible for performing various renovation tasks both internally and externally throughout the campus. This full-time position involves refurbishing units and executing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing tasks, contributing to the overall maintenance and improvement of the facility.

Responsibilities

• Perform renovations internally and externally throughout the campus.
• Refurbish units and provide mechanical, electrical, and plumbing tasks.
• Design construction plans and price materials for active and proposed renovation projects.
• Design and fabricate custom cabinetry, furniture, and accent pieces.
• Execute renovation, remodeling, refinishing, reconstruction, maintenance, and repairs in accordance with applicable codes and policies.
• Service and install vinyl and ceramic tile, drywall, ceilings, flooring, doors, windows, and electrical components.
• Install custom cabinets and countertops.
• Coordinate with renovation vendors for ordering custom materials.
• Lead renovation projects, providing guidance to in-house staff and coordinating with on-site contractors.
• Manage inventory control for parts and materials.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent certificate of completion.
• Five+ years' experience in construction/building trades, facility maintenance, painting, refinishing, and remodeling.
• Experience with remodeling and maintenance tools.
• Valid NYS driver's license.
• Knowledge of customer service principles and processes.
