About the position

The Staff Attorney position at Honest Immigration is a full-time remote role focused on humanitarian visa applications. The ideal candidate will thrive in a self-directed work environment and will be responsible for document review, compliance assurance, and collaboration with project managers. This role is particularly suited for recent law graduates or attorneys seeking to gain experience in immigration law while working in a supportive team culture.

Responsibilities

  • Thoroughly review and analyze privileged and confidential documents related to humanitarian visa applications.
  • Ensure that all reviewed materials meet legal standards and adhere to internal client guidelines, identifying any discrepancies or issues that need addressing.
  • Work closely with project managers and team leads to coordinate workflow, prioritize tasks, and ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Participate in team meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and strategies for improvement.
  • Handle sensitive case information with discretion, ensuring compliance with confidentiality protocols and ethical standards.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed records of document review activities, including notes on compliance findings and any required follow-up actions.
  • Conduct legal research as necessary to clarify compliance issues or to support document review processes.
  • Stay updated on changes in immigration law and policies that may impact document review procedures.
  • Participate in quality assurance efforts by reviewing the work of peers and providing constructive feedback.
  • Assist in developing best practices for document review to enhance team efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (in good standing).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced remote environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior document review experience is a plus but not required.
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace and remote work tools is preferred.
