About The Position

The Reliability Tech C position focuses on executing assigned tasks and duties with a strong emphasis on safe work practices, high-quality precision work, and customer service to support the creation of "Great Products & Service." This role involves adhering to standards and best practices learned through training and experience, while also contributing feedback on job assignment needs and improvement opportunities. The primary function is to maintain manufacturing process and support equipment at the highest reasonable performance levels, covering mechanical systems such as power transmission components (bearings, pulleys, shafts, motors, gearboxes), conveyance systems (product/process related and utility-tied like pumps and piping), and mechanical control systems (including hydraulic and pneumatic elements). Responsibilities include troubleshooting and repairing equipment that causes safety, quality, or downtime issues, communicating findings and proposed solutions to leadership, and executing proactive maintenance plans. These plans encompass Preventive Maintenance (PM) for inspections, measurements, and component replacements/lubrication; Predictive Maintenance (PdM) involving data collection with specialized tools; and Condition Maintenance (CM) for repairs based on PM/PdM findings. The role also involves executing work orders for projects and process improvement initiatives and assisting higher-level technicians in the installation and removal of general mechanical systems.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of safety practices including LOTO, Confined Space, PPE, PIT, Fall Protection, Hoisting & Rigging, and Hot Work.
  • Calculator and Computer application skills for work order documentation and parts requisitioning.
  • Understanding of measurement units, techniques, and application of appropriate tools.
  • Math skills including Arithmetic and application of formulas (e.g., area, volume).
  • Ability to convert measurement units.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics and make simple sketches.
  • Identification and proper use of tools, including selection of the right tool for the job.
  • Knowledge of proper storage and handling techniques for lubricants.
  • Understanding of power transmission component types, terms, operation, and maintenance.
  • Understanding of plumbing/piping conveyance system types, terms, operation, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of precision alignment techniques for indirect coupled elements, including laser alignment.
  • Basic troubleshooting of mechanical systems.
  • Understanding of common cause failure modes and correction of mechanical systems.
