About the position
The Rehabilitation Services Manager at UTMB Health is responsible for overseeing the management and operations of therapy services across multiple clinical areas, particularly focusing on pediatric therapy programs including NICU and outpatient services. This role involves program development, team expansion, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure efficient service delivery and adherence to legal and ethical standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage service delivery at assigned clinical areas across multiple campuses in collaboration with the assigned Rehab Services Supervisors.
- Provide leadership for assigned clinical areas, promoting teamwork and consistency.
- Oversee revenue and expense management, validation, and productivity.
- Monitor operational performance of assigned areas.
- Assist the Director and Rehab Service Supervisor to ensure that their assigned areas meet or exceed established benchmarks and service metrics for performance.
- Promote evidence-based practices to ensure efficient and cost-effective services with improved functional outcomes.
- Assist in new program or service development and growth in assigned areas.
- Collaborate with other departments on various projects as necessary or assigned.
- Manage and provide status reports on a regular basis to the Director regarding operations of assigned areas.
- Manage personnel for assigned clinical area(s) including accountability and annual performance reviews.
- Provide and support training and staff development for assigned areas.
- Counsel, mentor, and coach personnel for professional growth and development or disciplinary action.
- Facilitate employee and patient flow communication and problem resolution.
- Communicate pertinent information to team members.
- Review job applicants and conduct interviews for vacant positions.
- Manage duties and monitor service delivery appropriately to therapy staff.
- Support Rehab Services Supervisor in management of environment of care to meet regulatory requirements and compliance.
- Assist with accreditation processes and provide education to maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
- Assist in the selection of operational and capital equipment and monitor equipment repairs and maintenance.
- Maintain an applicable level of physical presence at assigned areas and respond to requests for assistance.
- Maintain availability after hours and on weekends for employees and other personnel.
- Provide oversight to the Peer Review process and ensure EMR documentation compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Physical or Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Six (6) years of related experience.
- Licensed by the Texas Executive Council of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy Examiners.
