About The Position

AIMS serves as a skills and support day program. The AIMS Rehab Counselor II at LIFESTREAM BEHAVIORAL CENTER facilitates consumers in the AIMS Program in their recovery; assist in the achievement of their maximum recovery, and independence in life.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
Minimum of Three-year direct experience with persons having neurobiological brain disorder (SPMI) and substance abuse disorder preferred
Experience in working with consumers involved in supported employment
Strong understanding of rehabilitation counseling principles and practices.
Ability to assess client needs and develop personalized rehabilitation plans.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
Proficiency in maintaining detailed and accurate client records.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion.
Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations governing rehabilitation counseling.

Responsibilities

Provide individual and group counseling sessions to address substance abuse and mental health issues.
Monitor and evaluate clients' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
Educate clients and their families about substance abuse, mental health, and available community resources.
Stay informed about the latest developments in substance abuse counseling and mental health treatment.
Advocate for clients' needs and rights within the community and healthcare systems.
Support clients in developing coping strategies and life skills to enhance their recovery and prevent relapse.
