About the position

The Rehab Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day management of the rehabilitation department within assigned facilities. This role includes overseeing therapy personnel, scheduling services for in-patients and out-patients, and implementing new programs to meet the needs of the facility and its residents. The position requires managerial oversight of rehabilitative services without delivering direct treatment to patients.

Responsibilities

  • Directly manages and guides all therapy personnel, including licensed, registered, certified therapists, assistants, aides, and students.
  • Daily scheduling for department staff to meet the needs of the facility.
  • Discusses scheduling needs with therapists of record for residents.
  • Conducts periodic reviews of therapy services to adapt to changing environments.
  • Ensures adherence to all regulatory standards for rehabilitation services delivery.
  • Ensures clinical documentation is complete, timely, and accurately reflects services provided.
  • Conducts periodic department documentation reviews.
  • Coordinates denials management activities to ensure timely claims and appeals according to company procedures.
  • Ensures staff meets or exceeds productivity standards established by the supervisor.
  • Ensures high-quality service delivery that meets all standards of practice.
  • Implements new treatment programs and monitors their outcomes.
  • Communicates findings with therapists responsible for the plan of care.
  • Assures compliance with established policies and procedures of the facility.
  • Approves timecards and time worked by department personnel.
  • Provides input to supervisor on performance of department employees.
  • In-services therapy staff on safe work practices, emphasizing good body mechanics and safety.
  • Organizes rehabilitation orientation for new department personnel.
  • Maintains confidentiality of patient and company information.
  • Promotes a positive attitude among staff and the community regarding the company and its mission.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree from an accredited PTA program.
  • Licensed as a Physical Therapy Assistant with a license in good standing with the state board.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including data input into programs such as Net Health and Point Click Care.
  • CPR certification as per licensure requirement.
