The Registrar Pulmonology position at LifePoint Health involves managing patient registration processes within the healthcare system. The Registrar will also be responsible for verifying insurance benefits and obtaining necessary authorizations, contributing to the overall efficiency of the healthcare delivery process.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information is obtained and entered in the registration system accurately and timely.
- Distribute and explain forms, documents, and educational handouts to patients and/or family members.
- Verify insurance benefits and obtain precertification/authorization as necessary.
- Follow physician practice revenue cycle guidelines to determine and accept required payments, including co-pays and deductibles.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and in a stressful environment.
