About the position

The Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) plays a crucial role in the veterinary hospital, providing high-quality medical care and customer service. This position requires a licensed/certified technician with experience in dentistry or anesthesia, who is eager to work collaboratively with an anesthesiologist. The RVT will be responsible for various technical skills and will contribute to the overall growth and success of the veterinary practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to pre-op and post-op patients.
• Perform dental prophylaxis, probing, and charting, including dental digital radiographs.
• Induce, maintain, monitor, and recover anesthesia patients.
• Set up, run, and monitor anesthesia equipment confidently.
• Perform venipuncture and phlebotomy procedures.
• Administer medications via PO, SQ, IM, and IV routes.
• Prepare the treatment area for procedures, including sterilization of surgical instruments and supplies.
• Use laboratory tools for internal and external testing, such as PCV, BG, Snap Tests, PT/PTT, in-hospital CBC, and chemistries.
• Communicate effectively with clients and staff throughout the treatment process.
• Thrive in a team environment and support colleagues as needed.

Requirements

• Valid Veterinary Technician Certification license.
• Minimum of 2 years of veterinary experience.
• High school diploma or GED.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with dental procedures and anesthesia monitoring.
• Proficient in medical math.
• Strong animal handling and restraint skills.
