About The Position

We are seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist, internally referred to as our RRT. The RRT can be referred to as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP II) but someone who carries out respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as directed by the medical and cardiopulmonary directors, based on physician orders. They focus on assessing, planning, implementing, and documenting care while considering the specific needs of patients based on age and population; in the absence of a supervisor, they may be designated as the Lead RCP, overseeing the department during their shift. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PD/ PRN as needed.

Requirements

Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required.
Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or obtained within three (3) months of hire.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certified from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) upon hire and maintain current.
Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the AHA or ARC certification upon hire and maintain current.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the AHA certification upon hire and maintain current or obtained within 60 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

Neonatal Resuscitation Program certificate is preferred.
Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred.
Two (2) years of acute care experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Performing respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered by the ordering provider.
Assessing, planning, implementing, and documenting care, with consideration of age and population specific needs and requirements of the patient.
May on occasion be assigned/identified as Lead RCP, having responsibility for the section or department during their shift.
