Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Respiratory Care Practitioner credentialed from the Texas Respiratory Care Practitioners Certification Program obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Respiratory Care Practitioner provisional/temporary license will be accepted until license is issued.
Respiratory Therapist specializing in Registered credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Nice To Haves

Active certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
Minimum of two years of recent, full-time experience performing advanced respiratory care in a critical care (ICU/NICU/PICU) setting.

Responsibilities

Assess and develop individualized care plans to manage and treat patients experiencing acute and chronic respiratory insufficiencies.
Implement and perform advanced respiratory care modalities, meticulously monitoring and communicating patient response to treatment and life-support equipment.
Evaluate the effectiveness of respiratory treatments and administered medications, adjusting the plan of care to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Respond immediately to all emergency resuscitation team codes, providing critical and life-saving respiratory support.
Educate patients and their families on managing their health condition and connect them with appropriate community resources and support programs.
