About the position

The Registered Nurse at Villa Serena Healthcare Center is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to residents under the supervision of the Director of Nursing. This role involves assessing resident needs, implementing care plans, administering medications, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The nurse will also take on leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Director of Nursing, making critical decisions regarding resident care and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Administers nursing care as indicated by the nursing care plan and in compliance with all Regulatory Agencies.
  • Demonstrates ability to provide appropriate and quality nursing care to residents.
  • Reviews all resident histories to determine course of illness and all co-morbidities for integration into the care plan.
  • Effectively assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for residents.
  • Educates residents, families, and significant others regarding treatment, tests, special procedures, medications, and safety.
  • Consistently monitors resident condition and initiates appropriate nursing intervention.
  • Initiates and conducts emergency measures (including CPR) required to stabilize patient's condition.
  • Prioritizes residents' needs, expediting treatment for acutely ill residents.
  • Consistently documents resident care and reports pertinent clinical observations and reactions to the appropriate individual.
  • Actively participates in development and assessment of resident care issues as they relate to Performance Improvement activities.

Requirements

  • Current Licensure as a Registered Nurse by the State of California.
  • Minimum of H.S. degree or equivalent.
  • Long-Term care experience preferably in a skilled nursing setting.
  • Must be certified in CPR.
  • IV certification.
  • Must maintain current licensure in good standing during employment with this facility.
