About the position

The Registered Nurse at All Ways Caring HomeCare is a licensed professional responsible for providing direct and indirect care to clients in their home environment. This role focuses on health maintenance and disease prevention, enabling clients to live independently. The nurse supervises caregivers involved in the client's care plan and may perform both administrative and clinical responsibilities based on state regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide skilled nursing care/treatment to clients per Physicians Orders and Plan of Care.
  • Accurately document nursing actions, health status, and communicate with family and physicians.
  • Document progress and outcomes for established goals and inform relevant parties of changes in client's medical condition.
  • Administer medication and management as needed.
  • Conduct health teaching and assist clients in learning self-care techniques and safety measures.
  • Perform nursing assessment visits as needed.
  • Report incidents per operational procedures and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient-related information and honor patient rights.
  • Complete Start of Care assessments in person, where applicable and in accordance with state regulations.
  • Conduct supervisory visits to review plan of care and caregiver competency assessment.
  • Complete required nursing documents as necessary.
  • Observe, assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing support for individuals in a community or home setting.
  • Work closely with nursing management in planning and evaluating programs and services.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings and in-services as requested.
  • Ensure compliance with state/local/payer requirements and documentation standards.
  • Manage medication orders and ensure proper handling and disposal of medications.
  • Transcribe physician orders and ensure accurate documentation of medical reports.
  • Schedule and complete appointments for health-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Communicate with management regarding client hospitalizations.
  • Provide training and competency validation for new employees and annual re-certification.

Requirements

  • Degree in Nursing from an accredited school.
  • One or more years of nursing experience preferred.
  • Home Health Care experience preferred.
  • Experience in administering medications.
  • Current and unrestricted RN license in the state of operation.
  • CPR professional certification.
  • General knowledge of computers and ability to learn industry-specific software.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Ability to develop critical thinking skills and solve complex problems.
