About the position

The position involves comprehensive nursing responsibilities including patient assessments, communication, problem solving, caring relationships, time management, leadership, and teaching. The nurse will incorporate appropriate assessment and intervention skills that are age-specific in all interactions and delivery of nursing care. This includes assessing patients' physical and psycho-social status, analyzing relevant data, and integrating assessment results into care planning, goals, and outcomes. The nurse will also provide therapeutic interventions based on continued assessment, prescribed orders, and input from other care providers, ensuring adequate pain management, managing IV therapy, and administering medications according to critical elements. Safety for patients, colleagues, and self is paramount in all interactions.

Responsibilities

• Incorporates appropriate assessment and intervention skills that are age specific in all interactions and delivery of nursing care.
• Assesses patients' physical/psycho-social status and analyzes relevant data.
• Integrates assessment results in care planning, goals, and outcomes.
• Provides therapeutic interventions based on continued assessment, prescribed orders, and input from other care providers.
• Ensures adequate pain management, manages IV therapy, and administers medications according to critical elements.
• Communicates with patients, colleagues, providers, and management in an accurate, considerate, and timely manner.
• Applies patient specific communication skills in interactions that are culturally sensitive and appropriate to age.
• Employs critical thinking skills to achieve outcomes and solve problems.
• Engages in caring relationships that integrate the influence of the human experience of health, illness, and/or healing.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• Candidates with AAS in Nursing who will complete BSN within four years of date of hire will be considered.
