The Medical Assistant Certified position at Mason Clinic's Surgery Department is a full-time role focused on providing essential support in a surgical clinic environment. The role involves managing patient flow, assisting with examinations and procedures, and ensuring a positive patient experience while working closely with physicians and healthcare providers.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage the flow of patients to maximize physician's time and reduce delays.
• Take initial patient history and accurately document vital signs and complaints in the patient's medical record.
• Prepare the patient and examination room for the physician's examination or procedure.
• Assist the physician with examinations and procedures, including performing phlebotomy and necessary laboratory testing.
• Clean patient rooms after visits and procedures, ensuring proper sterilization of instruments.
• Call or fax in prescriptions and handle physician's callbacks on patient test results as directed.
• Monitor and maintain medical equipment in good working order and manage medical stock inventory.
• Complete all tasks and documentation accurately and in a timely manner.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program.
• One year of experience working in a physician's office is preferred.
• State of Washington certification as Medical Assistant is required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, or within 180 days of hire.

Nice-to-haves

• Current medical assistant certification through AAMA, AMT, NHA, or NCCT.
