About The Position

CMT Services Inc. is seeking an expert-level Registered Nurse Supervisor to provide guidance, troubleshoot, and answer questions related to nursing expertise and the field where the skill is used. This role involves ensuring continuity of care and supervision, serving as a resource to nursing staff and administration, and acting as a consumer advocate to ensure active treatment. The supervisor will provide direct clinical supervision and leadership, establish and maintain a safe therapeutic environment, monitor staff development, and apply hospital/nursing policies and procedures. Responsibilities include participating in quality improvement activities, maintaining communication with consumers and employees, record-keeping, report preparation, employee evaluations, and competency assessments. The role also involves direct patient care such as administering medications, transcribing physician orders, and lifting/positioning consumers.

Requirements

  • 3 years as a Registered Nurse or 4 years of professional nursing experience providing care and treatment for individuals with mental or physical injury, illness, and/or developmental disability.
  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing; or possession of a non-renewable temporary practice permit.
  • Knowledge of non-professional health care services to improve individuals’ ability to perform daily living activities.
  • Ability to read and interpret written materials.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate and collaborate regularly with Chief Nurse Executive, Nurse Manager I, and other supervisors to ensure continuity of care and supervision.
  • Serve as a resource to nursing staff, nursing administration, interdisciplinary team members, and consumer support services.
  • Review all phases of nursing service daily, acting as a consumer advocate to ensure active treatment.
  • Provide direct clinical supervision and leadership by planning, directing, controlling, and evaluating delivery of care in multiple consumer care areas.
  • Establish and maintain a safe therapeutic environment for consumers and staff.
  • Monitor staff attendance in development programs and provide ongoing orientation/education and on-the-job training to professional and non-professional nursing personnel.
  • Apply hospital/nursing policies and procedures and participate in Nursing Quality PI and Hospital PI activities, as well as nursing and facility committees.
  • Utilize therapeutic communication and maintain knowledgeable daily communication with consumers and all employees.
  • Maintain records, prepare reports, complete employee evaluations, and conduct competency assessments.
  • Act as a consumer advocate, lift and position consumers as necessary, administer prescribed medications/treatments, transcribe physician orders, and perform other related duties as requested.
