About the position
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Step Down Unit at Peterson Health is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients, focusing on their spiritual, emotional, physiological, and psychosocial needs. This full-time night shift position requires the RN to assess patient needs, develop and implement care plans, and evaluate patient responses to care. The role emphasizes compassionate, patient-centered care within a supportive team environment.
Responsibilities
- Assess the needs of each patient on the unit.
- Plan nursing care to meet the identified needs of patients.
- Implement the plan of care through performance and/or leadership of subordinate personnel.
- Evaluate patients' responses to care both verbally and in writing.
Requirements
- Inpatient RN License
- PALS Certification
- BLS Certification
- ACLS Certification
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Patient care assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Advanced competencies as defined by participation in formal Continuing Nursing Education activities.
- Six to twelve months of experience as an RN in an inpatient medical-surgical setting.
