About the position

The Registered Nurse (RN) position at White Pine Care Center involves providing comprehensive nursing care to residents, ensuring their health and safety while adhering to established standards and protocols. The RN will be responsible for assessing patient conditions, administering medications, and collaborating with healthcare teams to meet the needs of residents. This role requires effective communication with physicians, care coordinators, and families, as well as documentation of patient care activities.

Responsibilities

• Understand and adhere to White Pine Care Center's Corporate Compliance Standards, Code of Conduct, and all Department/Personnel policies and procedures.
• Report changes in the resident's condition to physician, Care Coordinator, and family on a timely basis.
• Document condition changes to resident's medical record and communicate change to next shift.
• Document accurately and concisely on admissions, transfers, deaths, and discharges.
• Collaborate effectively with all other disciplines in meeting needs of the resident.
• Direct the ongoing care of the resident on a daily basis during the assigned shift.
• Supervise and/or delegate appropriately to CNAs.
• Assess the condition of the resident accurately, and collaborate with the DON/ADON as indicated.
• Physically and mentally respond to emergency situations; able to initiate and delegate CPR.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and assess the effectiveness of these.
• Effectively handle and report emergencies, accidents, incidents and complaints.
• Accurately receive, interpret and transcribe Physician orders.
• Stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Remain up-to-date on safety procedures, including fire and disaster; choking; incident reports; use of side rails/restraints, body mechanics, gait belts, etc.

Requirements

• Current RN license or temporary permit for practice in the state of Nevada.
