About the position

The RN Operating Room protects, promotes, and restores health and wellness by practicing at the highest level of a Registered Nurse licensure. In addition, the RN collaborates with surgeons and providers on a multidisciplinary care team of members that provide care and coordination across the continuum. The RN assesses and evaluates needs of the intra-operative patient's physical symptoms, provides psychological support to patients, friends, and families, supports family needs with communication and instruction, mentors assigned team members, promotes best practice, and maintains professional disposition at all times.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with surgeons and providers on a multidisciplinary care team.
- Assess and evaluate needs of the intra-operative patient's physical symptoms.
- Provide psychological support to patients, friends, and families.
- Support family needs with communication and instruction.
- Mentor assigned team members.
- Promote best practice in the operating room.
- Maintain professional disposition at all times.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse licensure by the State Board of Nursing in appropriate state (Illinois or Michigan).
- Current American Heart Association HealthCare Provider BLS is required prior to start date of employment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
Nice-to-haves
- BSN
- 6 months experience as an RN in a healthcare environment.
- Electronic Medical Record and Microsoft application basic proficiency.
