About the position
Sentara Albemarle Medical Center is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse (RN) for the Same Day Surgery Department, with opportunities for cross-training to PACU and PASS. The role involves providing competent nursing care, assessing and admitting patients, administering medications, and ensuring overall patient care. Responsibilities
- Assess and admit patients in the Same Day Surgery Department.
- Administer medications and perform rounding checks.
- Communicate with family members regarding patient care.
- Ensure overall care and safety of patients during their stay.
- Collaborate with team members to provide exceptional patient care.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia and North Carolina.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire.
- Critical Care/IMCU ACLS certification within 1 year of hire.
- Emergency Care - ACLS & PALS or ENPC certification within 1 year of hire.
- Oncology Care - ONS/ONCC or Sentara approved course Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Provider Card within 6 months of hire.
- Women's Care - NRP certification within 6 months of hire.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 6 months of hire.
- BSN or MSN preferred.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in Same Day Surgery or PACU settings.
- Knowledge of nursing standards and practices.
