About the position
The position involves providing nursing care in the IVF and REI departments, including patient assessment, procedure assistance, and education. The role requires collaboration with medical staff and adherence to safety protocols while managing patient care effectively. The nurse will also participate in on-call duties and performance improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Completes pre-procedure assessments including medical history and sedation plans.
- Monitors patients throughout their stay in the IVF Lab and evaluates the effectiveness of care.
- Maintains a safe working environment and demonstrates competency in IV skills.
- Communicates effectively with patients, families, and medical staff regarding patient care and procedures.
- Documents all patient care and procedural information accurately according to Prisma Health guidelines.
- Educates patients and families about procedures and health maintenance, ensuring understanding and consent.
- Demonstrates organizational skills by managing daily procedure schedules and anticipating physician needs.
- Participates in departmental performance improvement initiatives and staff meetings.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in Nursing
- 1 year of clinical nursing experience within Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility
- Current SC RN License
