The position involves providing high-quality nursing care to a specific patient population within a clinical unit at the University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center. The nurse will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to advocate for patient and family needs while ensuring safe and effective care delivery.

Responsibilities

• Independently practice with solid knowledge and clinical skills in the care of unit-specific patient populations.
• Serve as a clinical resource for other staff members.
• Apply and integrate evidence-based practices into nursing care.
• Function effectively in unit-specific roles, such as arrest team for ICU or triage for ED.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to plan and coordinate patient care.
• Advocate independently for patient and family needs.
• Model practice consistent with unit operations to ensure safe, timely, effective, efficient, and equitable patient-centered care.

Requirements

• Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Maryland or eligibility to practice due to Compact state agreements.
• More than 12 months of nursing experience.
• Solid knowledge and clinical skills in nursing.
• Current AHA BLS certification required.
• Must meet all unit-specific certification requirements (PALS, ACLS, NRP).
