About the position

This nursing position is designed for registered nurses with over 12 months of experience, focusing on providing and coordinating independent patient care within a clinical specialty. The role emphasizes collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure quality patient outcomes and involves responsibilities in clinical practice, service quality, unit operations, and professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Provides independent care to unit specific patient population.
  • Serves as a clinical resource for others and integrates evidence into practice.
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to plan and coordinate care addressing patient/family needs.
  • Assists in team development and evaluation of Patient and Family Centered Care.
  • Participates in collection of data related to outcomes and Nursing Sensitive Quality Indicators (NSQI).
  • Supports charge nurse decisions and performs charge role for assigned shifts as needed.
  • Serves as preceptor, coach, and mentor to new nurses and students.

Requirements

  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Maryland or eligible to practice due to Compact state agreements.
  • One year of nursing experience.
  • Diploma or Associate's Degree in nursing required.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • Maintenance of 10 contact hours of education every two years.
  • Solid knowledge and clinical skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Unit based licensure as required for the role (e.g., ACLS, NPR, STABLE).
  • Recent applicable clinical experience in a comparable setting.
