About the position

The position involves delivering patient care utilizing the nursing process through data collection and assessment, identifying and determining the priority of patient's problems/needs, and evaluating the process and outcome of nursing care. The role also includes coordinating, providing, and directing patient teaching activities and coordinating the care provided by health team members.
Responsibilities
- Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessment in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team.
- Analyze assessment data and create a plan of care.
- Implement treatment and evaluate treatment effectiveness.
- Administer medications in a safe manner consistent with the State of Practice and Bon Secours Mercy Health policies and procedures.
- Serve as point of contact for patients' care coordination throughout hospital departments.
- Act as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement in the department.
- Incorporate the professional practice model into care delivery.
Requirements
- Valid nursing license from the state of practice (required).
- Associate of Nursing, nursing (required) OR Diploma in Nursing (required).
Nice-to-haves
- Bachelors of Science, nursing (preferred).
- BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (preferred).
