This role oversees the performance of stroke program coordinators in the region, mentoring them in certification and assisting in the implementation of regional stroke program initiatives and goals. The position is involved in interviewing, hiring, and annual performance reviews of stroke coordinators and program staff. The individual will develop, evaluate, and maintain a comprehensive program that meets and exceeds guidelines established by federal regulations and national association standards. Responsibilities include ongoing program management across the continuum of care, ensuring compliance with standards, and achieving operational efficiency, patient satisfaction, quality outcomes, and performance goals. This includes identifying and implementing patient care processes and protocols, developing and implementing short and long-term goals in collaboration with leadership, and facilitating and monitoring quality, financial, operational, and process data. The role also involves developing and implementing action plans for program metrics, participating in patient care when possible to maintain skills and identify needs, and serving as a clinical expert for complex patient care situations. Effective networks with colleagues, serving as a liaison with medical staff, patients, families, and the community, and participating in educational programs for patients, families, and community groups are also key. Promoting personal and professional growth through continuing education is essential.
