About the position

Awesome PRN opportunity for an experienced L&D RN! The position involves providing nursing care to patients using the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The L&D RN will direct and lead other assigned team members and collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to provide age/developmentally appropriate care in accordance with nursing standards of care and practice. The role emphasizes patient/family-centered care, focusing on the physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, religious, and environmental needs of patients. This includes assessment, development of nursing diagnoses, outcome identification, planning, implementation of interventions, coordination of care, health teaching and promotion, and evaluation of goals and interventions consistent with the policies of MUSC. The RN will maintain a safe, therapeutic, and healing environment, ensuring patient privacy and demonstrating professional behavior. Active participation in a professional practice model is expected, including shared governance, adherence to standards of care, peer review, and professional development promoting leadership and clinical excellence. The RN will coordinate the effective and efficient delivery of patient care services through care management principles, identifying clinical priorities and initiating actions to improve patient outcomes. The schedule is PRN as scheduled, with a night shift requirement.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • L&D RN experience required
  • Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of South Carolina
  • Current BLS, NRP and ACLS card; if not certified in NRP, must obtain within 3 months; ACLS card must be obtained within 6 months
