About the position
The Inpatient Unit Registered Nurse (IPU RN) at AdventHealth Hospice Care is responsible for providing skilled nursing care to patients in the inpatient unit, ensuring their needs are met in accordance with the care plan and established policies. This role emphasizes one-on-one patient care, emotional support for families, and effective communication with healthcare teams, all within a faith-based and mission-driven environment.
Responsibilities
- Identify patient/family/caregiver needs and provide nursing care in the inpatient unit.
- Conduct admissions assessments for patients being admitted to the IPU.
- Communicate with family members regarding the patient's condition and provide emotional support and education.
- Respond to patient call bells in a timely manner.
- Complete all required documentation in the electronic medical records system, including assessments, medications, and treatments.
- Interpret and verify physicians' orders, developing and implementing the patient care plan.
- Monitor patient conditions for changes in symptoms and report to the physician, adjusting the care plan as necessary.
Requirements
- Graduate of a nursing school with a minimum of an Associate of Science degree or diploma.
- Active Florida RN license or active multi-state RN license.
- Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
