About the position
The Hospice Inpatient Unit Registered Nurse (IPU RN) at AdventHealth Hospice Care is responsible for providing skilled nursing care to patients in the inpatient unit, ensuring their needs and those of their families are met. Responsibilities
- Identify patient/family/caregiver needs and provide nursing care in accordance with the plan of care.
- Conduct admissions assessments of patients being admitted to the IPU.
- Communicate with family members regarding the patient's condition and provide emotional support and education.
- Answer patient's call bell in a timely manner.
- Complete all required documentation for patient's records in the electronic medical records system.
- Interpret and verify physicians' orders and develop the patient care plan accordingly.
- Monitor patient condition for changes in symptoms and report to physician, adjusting the plan of care as necessary.
Requirements
- Graduate of school of nursing with a minimum of an Associate of Science degree or diploma.
- Active Florida RN license or active multi-state RN license required.
- Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Nice-to-haves
