About the position
The Registered Nurse (RN) position at SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital involves providing comprehensive nursing care in various Intensive Care Units (ICUs), including CVICU, Neuro ICU, Medical ICU, and Trauma ICU. The role emphasizes patient assessment, care planning, and collaboration with healthcare teams to ensure high-quality patient outcomes. RNs are expected to engage in continuous learning and teaching, utilizing advanced medical technologies and practices to deliver exceptional care in a supportive and innovative environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and reassessments.
- Establish, coordinate, and evaluate a plan of care based on assessment data.
- Provide and document nursing interventions based on assessed patient needs.
- Document and communicate nursing care and changes in patient condition.
- Provide specialized care to patients at high risk for injury, including pain management and abuse assessment.
- Demonstrate accountability for professional practice and adhere to quality standards.
- Maintain a collaborative team approach and orient new employees as needed.
- Ensure safety and infection control in accordance with hospital policies.
- Provide service excellence to patients and families, addressing their needs promptly.
- Incorporate performance improvement and evidence-based practice into nursing care.
Requirements
- RN licensure in the State of Missouri.
- Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from the American Heart Association.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in critical care nursing, particularly in cardiac, neuro, medical, or trauma settings.
- Advanced certifications in critical care or specialty areas.
