The Registered Nurse (RN) for the Heart Transplant Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) at AdventHealth Central Florida is responsible for providing specialized nursing care to critically ill patients requiring advanced cardiac surgical recovery. Responsibilities
- Provide direct and indirect nursing care to critically ill patients in the CVICU.
- Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes that may lead to complications.
- Assist physicians in managing patient care and operating complex medical equipment.
- Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Participate in outstanding customer service and maintain respectful relationships with patients and families.
- Adhere to infection prevention protocols and medication safety standards.
- Engage in process improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and care quality.
Requirements
- Current registration with Florida State Board of Nursing as a registered professional nurse.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification per specialty/unit requirements.
- Graduate of a school of nursing with department-specific advanced competencies.
- 1 year of critical care experience, preferably in a cardiothoracic or cardiovascular setting.
Nice-to-haves
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
- Experience in CVICU or cardiovascular operating room settings.
- Professional certifications such as CCRN, CNOR, CSC, CMC, or CCTN.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
