About the position
The Advanced Cardiothoracic Registered Nurse plays a crucial role in the Advanced Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Unit (ACSU) at AdventHealth, providing specialized care to critically ill patients requiring constant monitoring and advanced medical interventions. This position involves working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care and support the recovery of patients undergoing complex cardiac procedures.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct and indirect nursing care to critically ill patients in the cardiothoracic ICU.
- Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes that may lead to complications.
- Operate and manage complex medical equipment and assist physicians in patient management.
- Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Participate in outstanding customer service and maintain respectful relationships with patients and families.
Requirements
- Graduate of a school of nursing.
- Current registration with Florida State Board of Nursing as a registered professional nurse.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced life support certification (ACLS) per specialty/unit requirements.
Nice-to-haves
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
- One year experience in cardiothoracic, cardiovascular, or cardiac ICU setting OR cardiovascular operating room experience.
- Professional certification (CCRN, CNOR, CSC, CMC, CCTN).
- ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications based on patient population.
