About the position
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for overseeing nursing activities in a designated area during their shift. This role involves delegating responsibilities to nursing staff, ensuring residents receive appropriate care, and implementing treatment plans to promote residents' health and well-being. The RN will also maintain accurate medical records, supervise nursing assistants, and communicate effectively with residents and their families.
Responsibilities
- Supervise total nursing activity during the shift.
- Delegate responsibilities to nursing personnel based on residents' needs.
- Ensure residents receive prescribed treatments, medications, and therapies.
- Plan and supervise rehabilitative programs in conjunction with the Director of Nursing.
- Implement preventative measures to guard against accidents and infections.
- Maintain harmonious relationships with staff and residents.
- Attend educational classes to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Record all observations, medications, and treatments accurately.
Requirements
- Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
- Current RN license in good standing in Indiana.
- Evidence of good health and emotional stability.
- Possess leadership and organizational abilities.
- Genuine interest in long-term resident care with a focus on rehabilitation.
- Ability to communicate effectively and establish good relationships.
