The Registered Nurse RN Emergency Room PRN at Oviedo Medical Center plays a crucial role in providing high-quality nursing care to patients in the emergency department. This position requires quick thinking, decision-making, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, addressing a wide range of medical cases from minor injuries to critically ill patients. The RN will work collaboratively with a dedicated team to ensure patient safety and effective care delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Triage, assess, and treat patients of all ages.
  • Identify expected outcomes for individualized patient care plans.
  • Develop strategies and alternatives to achieve expected outcomes.
  • Manage multiple cases simultaneously while prioritizing nursing care needs.
  • Provide follow-up care instructions and make necessary referrals.
  • Coordinate functions with physicians and other hospital departments, maintaining a patient-focused approach.

Requirements

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida or multistate.
  • Associate Degree or Registered Nurse Diploma.
  • 1+ years of experience as an RN in an acute care environment preferred.
  • BLS certification must be obtained prior to employment start date.
  • NIH Stroke Scale certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
  • TNCC certification required within 6 months of employment start date.
  • ACLS certification or ACLS Instructor certification must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
  • PALS certification or PALS Instructor certification must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
