About the position
The Registered Nurse (RN) Didactic and Clinical Instructor for the Fundamentals of Nursing Course is responsible for facilitating student learning and development in a nursing education environment. This role involves implementing various teaching strategies, assessing student performance, and providing guidance to help students achieve their educational and career goals. The instructor will also participate in curriculum development and evaluation, ensuring that students are well-prepared for their nursing careers.
Responsibilities
- Facilitates learning and learner development in nursing students.
- Implements a variety of teaching strategies appropriate to learner needs and desired outcomes.
- Uses information technologies and eLearning tools to support the teaching-learning process.
- Provides resources to meet individual student learning needs.
- Helps students develop as nurses and integrate professional values and behaviors.
- Serves as a faculty advisor for student program and career planning.
- Assesses and evaluates student learning across various settings and domains.
- Provides timely feedback to students regarding their performance and progress.
- Participates in curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation.
Requirements
- Valid RN License is required.
- Previous experience in a hospital setting or senior care environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with nursing administration processes and documentation standards is essential.
- Knowledge of medical terminology is required for effective communication within the healthcare team.
- Experience with learning technology tools that enhance patient education and staff training is a plus.
- Critical care experience is advantageous for handling complex patient needs.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in teaching is preferred.
- Familiarity with eLearning technology is beneficial.
