About the position
The Registered Nurse (RN) in Behavioral Health at Ascension is responsible for providing direct patient care to individuals with behavioral health needs. This full-time position involves working three 12-hour night shifts and requires collaboration with a treatment team to develop and implement nursing care plans tailored to each patient's specific needs. The RN will conduct assessments, lead group therapy sessions, and evaluate patient responses to interventions, ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to behavioral health patients in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Perform initial and ongoing bio-psychosocial assessments according to accepted standards of nursing practice.
- Develop a nursing plan of care consistent with the master treatment plan.
- Participate in treatment team conferences to assist in planning and revising goals, objectives, and interventions appropriate to the age-related and problem-specific needs of each patient.
- Implement nursing plan of care for assigned patients and conduct and/or co-lead group therapy sessions for patients.
- Evaluate patient's response to interventions and revise nursing plan of care as needed.
- Collaborate with the treatment team to revise goals, objectives, and interventions appropriate to changes in patient status.
Requirements
- RN License from the Tennessee Board of Nursing or current home state license for multi-state license recognition (Compact State) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
- BLS Provider certification obtained within 1 month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
