About the position
The Registered Nurse (RN) position focuses on providing pediatric, family-centered nursing care in a primary care setting. The RN is responsible for delivering safe and effective nursing care to pediatric patients, collaborating with clinical providers, and ensuring compliance with administrative policies and clinical protocols. This role requires a high level of clinical competence, particularly in managing patients with moderate to complex health issues.
Responsibilities
- Provide safe nursing care to pediatric primary care patients with minimal guidance.
- Collaborate with clinical medical providers for daily patient care, assessment, and treatment.
- Follow the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Document ongoing evaluation and effectiveness of patient care.
- Administer medications safely as prescribed by the provider.
- Triage patient calls using pediatric protocols and telehealth standards.
- Assist clinical providers with in-office procedures within the scope of the nurse's license.
- Perform phlebotomy to obtain blood specimens and conduct back office laboratory tests.
- Deliver age and developmentally appropriate care to primary care patients.
Requirements
- BSN required.
- Must have or be eligible for PA nursing license.
- Pediatric Office Nurse experience required.
- Phone Triage experience preferred.
- BLS Certification with the American Heart Association required.
