About the position

The Registered Professional Nurse at CHRISTUS West will be responsible for delivering comprehensive patient care, which includes assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role involves prescribing, delegating, coordinating, supervising, and evaluating patient teaching and the activities of ancillary nursing personnel, all while adhering to professional nursing standards. The nurse will provide both direct and indirect care to patients, ensuring high-quality healthcare delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver patient care through assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Prescribe, delegate, coordinate, supervise, and evaluate patient teaching.
  • Oversee the activities of ancillary nursing personnel.
  • Maintain professional nursing standards while providing care.
  • Provide direct and indirect care to patients.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a State Board School of Nursing or equivalent.
  • Current license to practice professional nursing in the State of Texas.
  • American Heart Association BLS certification within two weeks of employment.
  • Medication Competence within two weeks of employment.
  • Computer Competence within four weeks of employment.
  • Arrhythmia Recognition Course within twelve weeks of employment if no current ACLS Certification.
  • AHA ACLS Certification within sixteen weeks of employment.
  • Critical Care classes and examinations within sixteen weeks of employment.
  • Phlebotomy/Point of Care Competency within four weeks of employment.
  • TNCC Course within six months of employment.
  • ENPC/PALS Certification within six months of employment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Six months of nursing experience preferred.
