About the position

The Registered Nurse - Operating Room position at Quadrant, Inc. involves providing optimal care to patients throughout their surgical experience. The role requires collaboration with healthcare team members, maintaining a positive attitude, and ensuring patient safety during surgical procedures. The nurse will be responsible for both circulating and scrubbing in during surgeries, as well as educating patients throughout their care process.

Responsibilities

• Work with all members of the health care team to provide optimal care to the patient throughout his/her surgical experience.
• Maintain a friendly, positive and caring attitude with all patients, physicians and staff.
• Provide patient education during all phases of the patient experience at the Center.
• Assist the physician during surgery and procedures by functioning in the circulating role.
• Coordinate the activities of the Anesthesiologist, Surgical Technologist, and Surgeon to ensure safe patient care.
• Ensure patient safety through appropriate transport, transfer and positioning of patient.
• Ensure appropriate levels of supplies and equipment to provide safe patient care.
• Monitor the environment to ensure sterile technique is maintained throughout the procedure.
• Operate and troubleshoot OR surgical equipment.
• Perform professional intra-operative nursing care of the patient by utilizing the nursing care process and making a plan for patient care.

Requirements

• Must have 2 plus years of experience as Operating Room Registered Nurse.
• Must have Circulating and/or Scrubbing in experience.
• Must have a valid and good standing Virginia Registered Nurse Licensure.
• Must have CPR Certification.
• Must have active BLS and ACLS certifications.
